Afamefuna was selected to be an LSAMP scholar in 2023. He conducted research under the tutelage of Dr. Susan Walsh is studying genetic phenotyping. After graduation he is planning a continuation into dental school. His activities include being a STEM student ambassador, DEAP scholar, and SAAB E board member.
