Mark Kibirige was selected as an LSAMP scholar in 2023 to work in the lab under Dr. Cristina Ascenzi Pettenuzzo. The area of research conducted was organic chemistry and the title of the research project was “Photoinduced Anti-Markovnikov hydroxylation-alkylation from water by Pyridine N-Oxide HAT catalyst.” His goals after graduation are to prepare for the MCAT and submit an application to go to medical school.
