Tyra was chosen to be an LSAMP scholar in 2023. She worked under Dr. Christine Picard developing the field of forensic entomology. Outside of her studies, Tyra is involved on campus with VIDA (Volunteer Initiatives Domestic and Abroad) as the director of recruitment.
