Nathanael Smith was selected as an IN LSAMP Summer Research Scholar in 2023. Currently, he is seeking a degree in Biology. As an LSAMP Scholar, he is working with Dr. Shahir Rizk on growing and cloning Arylphorin Alpha, an enzyme found in the wax worm called Galleria Mellonella, in bacteria cells of E. coli. Nathanael Smith is a member of the IUSB honors program and hopes to graduate in 2026 with plans to pursue dental school.
