Indiana University utilizes an interactive graduation planning system called iGPS to help students create a personalized map to degree completion. Degree maps are major specific templates that guide students in a particular program to plan for milestones and complete courses specific to their major in a timely manner. Students use iGPS in collaboration with their academic advisors to stay on track for graduation within eight semesters.
IU Bloomington offers a variety of Learning Communities for students as a way for incoming first year students to connect to a group of peers who have common interests and career goals. Two communities supported by IN LSAMP at IUB are the Women in STEM Living-Learning Center and the Wells STEM Thematic Community. To apply for either of these programs as incoming first year students, contact the IU campus coordinator at lsampbl@indiana.edu to request and fill out the New Student Housing Application and Contract indicating your interest in these programs on the application.
A variety of tutoring resources are available free of charge for all students at IUB. For Math and Science tutoring, check out the Tutoring Resources website.
At IU Bloomington, students who are selected for the 8-week summer research program are eligible to serve as peer mentors for incoming first year STEM students who are on campus for summer programs. If you are interested in serving as a mentor, contact the IN LSAMP Bloomington site coordinator at lsampbl@indiana.edu.
